01214525621 unwanted call..wanting my bank details

Just wanted to give the heads up on this number incase anyone else googles it.

This 'company' called twice today, asking to speak to a 'Mrs Smith' (not very original!!) said he was representing 'pilot store cards' and was calling about my 'account' with them.(Dont have any store cards and my names not Mrs Smith, but played along for a while to see what they wanted)

He wanted to reassure me my account was secure. But would like to take this opportunity to advise me on how to avoid fraud....then started asking me my personal and banking details, which ofcourse I declined to furnish him with.

He said that as I declined to verify who I was, (by giving him my bank details etc), he could not talk to me about fraud prevention on my account.....and then hung up, so must have known he'd been rumbled.

At the very least they are ignoring the TPS rules by calling as Im registered, If not trying to get bank details to con people.

Just googled the phone number, on another site this posting came up, it states its from a former employee of the company.....

hello,,,the number comes from stellar uk,,they are a telecomunication firm,,,there is about 250 emplpoyees there making calls,,they are hired by affinion international to ring Barclaycard and debanhams cutomers,,,,first of all they ring the B.C customers to try abd sell them " the leisure time offer" basically its all discounts on places,,all very well if you use it,,,they give you 30 days free trial to check it out for yourself and if you want to cancle you can without owing anything,,,they hopw you forget to cancel and they get their money,,,petrol vouchers arent worth it,,,you can only use one in each 1/4 of the year,,and even with that you have to wait for 4 to six weeks for the delivery of your cheque,,,,the you have the Debenhams customers,,,they ring them to offer them identity protection,,,ironically in the same phonecall they expect you to give you your details,,,,same 30 days free rule applies,,,,BASICALLY IF YOU WANT TO STOP THEM FROM RINGING YOU,,TAKE THE CALL,,ASK THEM TO TAKE YOUR NUMBER OFF THE LIST,,,THEY ARE LEGALLY OBLIGED TO DO SO,,AND WILL DO,,i have been doin it for long enough.
