Portable DVD Player - Help I have no clue!!!

Hi there
I want to get my daughter a portable DVD player for Christmas and have seen this one on EBay;

Now I have absolutely no clue about anything technical and wondered what the digital Freeview TV bit meant????
I have tried to have a little portable tv in the house but cannot get a picture at all, have even tried one of those super duper strength aerials but that didnt work.
Does the Freeview TV thingy on this DVD mean that she will be able to watch normal tv without the need for an aerial???
I'm sorry if this sounds really thick, but I am absolutely clueless

By the look of it it looks like if you cant get freeview without an aerial with a portable tv then you wont be able to get it on this dvd player.0
