Unexpected money credit in my current account

Hello, newbie here, been reading for a while but never needed to ask a question until now...
On checking my balance I noticed I have 3 credits of £1000, £419.19, & £9.38 arriving on the same date listed as 'NOSTRO ACCOUNT'. I called the bank & they say the creditor has not disclosed any information so they cannot tell me where this money has come from, apart from the transfer was from a Citibank account. They told me to check with friends & family but apart from that they couldn't really help (the woman I spoke to was laughing her head off!)
I am not owed money by anyone so this is completely unexpected. The one person I know with a citibank account has confirmed it is not their error.
Now I know this is NOT my money & I have no intention of spending it! I suppose my question is does anyone have any experience of this & what I should do to resolve this?
The bank said to wait & see if anyone asked for it back, but apart from that they were pretty unhelpful! I think I'm a little worried that someone has my details & thinks they're paying someone else...:o Although my bank didn't think this would be a security concern..
Sorry if I'm rambling a bit...

Just keep it in the account. I'm pretty sure someone will ask for it back eventually. Until then just collect the interest for it.0

One possibility is that someone is trying to scam you. You'll get a message asking you to write a cheque to repay the money and as soon as it's cleared they will ask their bank to recover the money mistakenly sent to your account.
However to do this they have to know who and where you are - not quite clear how they would.
Not sure what you can do but wait and see if its return is requested - and be wary when that happens as to how it's done.
A 'nostro' account is usually with an overseas bank BTW.0 -
