OK silly problem but it must have happened to someone else.
I've just gone back to a website that I am a member of which displays a security image to allow logging in.
Unfortunately both my web browsers Firefox 3.0.4 and IE8 don't display the security image.
On the site there is a warning about firefox not displaying the image - it says disable your adblocker. Now I didn't know that I had one, and so disabling it doesn't seem too easy for me.
I'm sure I'll get the usual don't use IE8 stick with IE5 or 6 or something, but really that isn't the most helpful of comment, what I want to do is use IE8 or firefox and view the website. So if anyone knows a work around I'd be greatful.
Thanks

Have you tried adding the site address to your trusted sites list?
I don't have a copy of IE8 here to check, but it's probably in Internet Options, Security.0 -
Try clicking on Tools >add ons this will show a list of add-on which have been down loaded go down to Adblocker and click the Disable button.0
-
the addon, adblockplus, adds a red box in the upper right corener, labelled abp. if it is there, click the small drop arrow, check 'disable on this page only'

also..if noscript is installed there will be a blue 'S' bottom right ith a no entry style circle in it. right click this, allow, or temporarily allow, the objects/sites you'll trust (not google analytics etc)Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0
