Im looking to go to Sydney for around 12 months so hopeing to get a single ticket to Sydney for now. I would preferebly like a 2 day stop in Hong Kong but theres no real preference.
I have phoned a few places and this is what prices ive got so far.......
Sta travel - Cathay Pacific £613
Trailfinders - Cathay Pacific £554
Southall Travels - Cathay Pacific £535
Opodo -Cathay Pacific £550 internet £540
Are these prices reasonable for two people flying from London to hong kong on the 10 February and then flying onto Sydney on the 13th Feb???
Please if anyone can help it will be much appreciated. Thanks

I think you'd be lucky to get anything much cheaper, but someone else may know better0

I think those prices quoted are cracking - that's if prices shown are for 2 people (I know they're single way).
One thing which may be worth noting - I don't know of the exact dates but it is sometime in February that Chinese New Year falls. It's a big deal to those guys and people fly home to Hong Kong and China from all over the world to be with their families for the celebrations - it's prime time travel!

Cathay currently have a sale on for return 1 year tickets for £819 which will save you a lot of money overall (and possibly immigration hassle?).
That's presuming you intend to return within 1 year, otherwise don't bother!
You'll spend about the same again for a return single flight.0 -
Those prices look great. The first time I flew to Sydney (May 1990) the cheapest flight was £920 ! How times change, I bought a RTW ticket for a little more than that, two years ago.0

Having been to Oz several times, I would say unless you are definately staying more than 12 months then you will be much better off buying a return ticket. You usually end up paying about 3/4 of the cost of a return for a one-way! In addition, one way tickets from Oz to UK are very expensive.
Also, depending on what visa you have, immigration might not be happy about letting you in without an onward or return ticket.0 -

Defo check for immigration. They might not let you in on a single ticket. You just need to watch these customs programmes and they are strict.0
