Question re exhaust

I had the rattle before I went to get it replaced.

Well we had the cam belt replaced today and the mechanic checked everything, suspension, etc etc and thought it may still be something to do with the rubbers on the exhaust.

I went back to who fitted the middle box today, they had a look again and it def wasn't the rubbers or the heatshield so it looks like something we will have to put up with. The mechanic said there was nothing going to drop off or anything like that.

The bloke at the exhaust centre tapped part of the exhaust with a hammer as he said it may have been a half an inch too close to the bodywork. He took it for a spin around the block, said he couldn't hear anything. I went around the block and was pleased that I couldn't hear it either so thanked him.

Drove home and I could hear the bloody noise again. Grrrrrrr!

I couldn't hear it when driving on the A roads, it's just when driving down the street etc.
