What are good specs for a laptop?

Just wondering if anyone with any techie knowledge knows what are good specs for a laptop. I am looking at the Toshiba Equium U400-146 with Intel Core 2 Duo Processor; 2GHz speeed; 3 GB memory and 160GB hard drive? Thanks

Depends what you're using it for. Is the small screen and portability essential? Are there any more heavyweight applications to take into account, or would it be your usual surfing, email, basic office kind of stuff?0
