I currently use AOL
Every time I try to open Internet Explorer it hangs, and the screen freezes and I have to close it via the Windows Task Manager.
Can I uninstall it and then download it again from the net?
Can anyone recommend an easy way to fix this ?
Thanks in advance ! :snow_grin

Congragulations. AOL uses its own web browser and tools to allow users to view internet sites. It does not like IE. You could remove AOLs Browers, but this will limit the functionality of the AOL controls.
Better still, go with a ISp that allows you to use an internet browser such as firefox or ie.0 -
I have AOL and have never had a problem with using IE or Firefox. The suggestion above about installing the latest version might help you out. One thought though, have you scanned for viruses/spyware etc maybe you have been hit with a browser hijacker??FB :heartpuls Wiggly

As an ex employee of AOL IE is AOL as Microsoft sold the rights to AOL
many years ago AOL just has a different front end and some other
pants thrown in for bad measure..
What I mean is that MS setup AOL with their browser by selling them
the code as long as it had the Same GUI in which early version did.
Also try in IE Tools, Internet Options, Programs Tab, Reset Web Settings.0
