Yorkshire/Clydesdale Bank - rate change question

Options
I followed the instructions on their website for opening a fixed term deposit but as the downloaded application form and cheque was in the post, the rates went down.

Does anyone know if there is a period of grace for getting the application in to them and thereby getting the higher rate? I am pretty sure mine would have arrived with them on Monday or Tuesday of this week.......I think they put the rates down last thing on Monday 17th.

    • The rates are variable and the completed Application Form and cheque must be with us within 5 Business Days of the rate last being advertised on the web page. The Bank will not be responsible for items posted that are not received within the required time.
and on the web page, the rate is still shown as 6%, 6.05% & 6.1%AER for the 1, 2 & 3yr bonds today (Sat 15th Nov 2008) - so there is still time to get your application in the post and get those rates.

I just hope that our forms got to them within 5 days and/or they don't lie about when they received them. I really should have sent it recorded so I could get proof.
