Hi all,
I was looking into changing my gas and electricity supplier so punched my details into uswitch.com.
According to the web site I can save around £147 by switching to Seeboard Energy or London Energy.
But when I went to the web sites of Seeboard and London to see how much they say they can save me I get the following message..
"As you live within the supply services area of another EDF Energy company, EDF Energy, you should visit their website for more details. They will offer you excellent service at competitive prices. Click here for more information."
When I go to EDF energy to see how much I can save it only says £17
I tried another comparison site and it too said I could save £147 by going to London Energy!!!
Has anybody had this problem?
Steven
PS, I live in Glasgow

Steven,
I too live in Glasgow and have just completed my move to London Energy Online. The confusion arises because the London Energy Online tariff is only available via the comparison sites and not via their own website which as you ay directs you elsewhere and at a higher tariff.
The online tariff is much cheaper and the online tariff leaflet I got with my Welcome Pack confirms the tariff on the comparison sites.0 -
sweet.. thanks Jem16....
I wish I had waited for a reply before sending an email to uswitch.com!! Not to worry..
Have a good new year

Yep, was on to them originally, but was compairing what the 2 sites said..
Did you have any problems with the switch, How long did it take?0 -
No problems at all.
Started switch on 26th Oct. Electricity was switched on 23rd Nov, gas 7th Dec. I've now received my final bills from Scottish Gas but still to sort out payment. I paid my electricity bill on the 17th December but it's still showing as "pending". But that's Scottish Gas for you!0 -

EileenH wrote:I also queried this before I switched as London Energy is not available in my area either but the online tariff is. I've now switched from Scottish Power to London Energy without any problems and saved £150 + cashback. My mum was with EDF Energy and I switched her to London Energy (which is part of EDF Energy) and saved her £80 a year plus the £12.50 cashback. I applied via Energyhelpline on 4th Nov and my electricity was switched on 27th Nov, gas 12th Dec. I've found that the online account management is a lot better than Scottish Power's and you also get Nectar points.
When you state you have "saved £150" and saved your mother £80 I assume they are predicted savings over the forthcoming year?
A great many people have switched using the predictions of energyhelpline and similar websites only to find the predictions were way off the mark.
This is particularly so with those who didn't give accurate consumption figures in kWh. They say, for instance, "I am paying £50 a month" get a quote for £40 a month and think they are saving £120 a year.
I am not implying this is what you have done, however I think it would be more accurate to say you are predicted to save £150 rather than "have saved £150.0
