Ok, Our news account is with whsmiths and they wanted 2 weeks average weekly news sales up front as a deposit, This is returned to you after 6 months provided you have not missed any payments and your account is upto date.
We have a seperate account with our evening news supplier who also wanted a similar deposit.
If you have a terminal for phone top ups or card payments they might also want a deposit from you.
Re Lottery terminal:- Just because the shop already has a terminal it does not automatically pass over to you, Camelot has you fill out many forms and also does a credit check on you and your husband.
When you are eligable to get your deposits back make sure you keep on at them (WHS in particualr are a nightmare to get your deposit back and conveniently forget to returnyour calls!)
I cannot really recommend what to sell it all depends on wher your shop is situated and the type of customers you have and if you are in a affluent area or not.
One word of warning is when you take over you will be swamped with sales calls for months from phone, gas, electric,Atm companies etc trying to get you tied into contracts with them. if they need to call you then you are not getting a good deal do your own research and you will find a much better deal.0
