Well, I've been taking a pcked lunch to work recently to try to save a bit of cash on expensive london lunches, so maybe I can offer some ideas.

A small pot filled with dried fruit/nuts - the nuts can be salted or not depending on how healthy you're trying to be
a small container of humous and something to dip in it - pitta, chopped up veg, something like that
A small salad, and a seperate container of some kind of dressing
leftovers from dinner the night before?

    I'm sure theres more.

Mine went off sandwiches all the time, so I started doing wraps & pitta pockets (usually ham or chicken leftovers with salad). They also like a little tub of salad; pasta salad is a favourite (just cooked pasta with a bit of dolmio & sometimes chopped peppers & ham added), rice salad (rice with a bit of curried mayo, raisins, sweetcorn & peppers), potato salad, as well as traditional salad (sometimes I add grated cheese). Great way to use up stuff! Sausage rolls or mini sausages. They have a cereal bar & fruit with it or a choccie biscuit or cake now & again. And a drink.

When they were younger they loved taking jelly in little pots, but thats no good in hot weather as it melts!

    Hi

My son came home with a healthy eating sticker that he said was for always having the best packed lunch. That day he had a ham roll (home made roll), handful of cherry toms, frube, apple, crisps (he rarely eats them) and a small slice of homemade chocolate cake and squash. He isnt allowed chocolate or sweets in his lunchbox but home made stuff is ok.

my five year old has taken a tub of pasta. an apple flavoured drink, grapes, mini cheese stick and a choc crispie cake we made. His school isnt too strict but my friends school only allows water or milk as a drink (not flavoured water), no cake or biscuit or crisps or cereal bars which contain chocolate! My friends daughter had her choc chip chewy cereal bar removed from her lunchbox - so unfair!

good luck with your lunch bags x
