Token Alert
Can I suggest that anyone with a Token meter who has not been given an appointment by their supplier to change to a key meter contacts their Company. This is due to Tokens being withdrawn accross the country. The problem comes to light if the meter operators have the meter down as a different type so do not alert you.
In many areas the Tokens have already been withdrawn. Yesterday I spoke to someone in this situation and as of the end of November they would have been unable to get electricity credit for their meter. Luckily they called after receiving a bill as the systems were showing credit.

I agree, suppliers have been trying to get these off the walls for the last couple of years but some have not been changed due to either (a) customer not being in or (b) incorrect records in some case caused by customers having both a credit meter and token acceptor.
Pass this message on to anyone you know who has one or even to anyone you see buying the tokens. It may help someone running out of elec over the forthcoming holiday period.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

Just bumping this up. Most Tokens if not all are being removed by end of November.
Of course we may then have a flood of people being charged by their suppliers for the meter not charging enough and leaving a debt.:(Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0
