Worcester 240 combi boiler problem

I have a problem with my Worcester 240 Combi RSF boiler.

After turning on the hot water tap or the central heating the gas jets ignite then after about 1 minute it trips the reset switch and cuts out.

I repeat after waiting 10-15 mins for it to cool down enough to press the reset button again.

Same thing happens....any help would be appreciated

I have exactly the same model boiler. Have you recently emptied + refilled the system? If so, you may notice it starts making noises, then cuts out. This is trapped air in the system i believe.

Turn the gas OFF at the gas mains, and let the boiler run for an hour or 2. It will contantly try to ignite (which is can't). All the air should have escaped by then. Then yuo can turn the gas mains back on.

    Worked for me anyway :)
  • Extra: keep bleeding the radiators during this time, and if/when the pressure drops, keep re-filling up with the water loop thingy.

I am not a boiler expert, this is just a bit of advice!

Hi I have a Worcester 240 Combi not sure if it RSF and I am having the same problem.

Sometimes it is OK and it comes on when it is supposed to on timer but the last few days it sounds like it is on but there is no heating or hot water and I have to keep pressing the reset button so it can fire up?

    Anyone any suggestions?
  • I have a Worcester 240 boiler that keeps cutting out constantly whether it is during the central heating cycle or just when I turn on the hot water tap. Sometimes it will cut out for up to 40-50 minutes and the radiators go cold and I cant get any hot water for ages, then suddenly it will come to life and run perfectly for an hour or so, then it will do it all over again. Very intermittant.
Does any one have any idea whats going on. Thanks.
