Zoom ADSL X6 5590 Modem & Router

Can anyone please help me?

I have today purchased a Zoom ADSL X6 5590 Modem & Router,

I have connected everything up and can get online on my desktop (to which it is hard wired) and can get online with my wireless laptop.(Unsecured)

However when I set the router security to WPA2 and put in a random 64 Char. Hex key I have generated it saves it but the laptop still only says unsecured.

Also my laptop can not recognise my desktop to transfer files.

What am I doing wrong?

try a shorter and simpler key to start with 8-63 characters

I have now entered a shorter phrase and I think I have a WPA security but connection now says zoom 2

Also how do I get the laptop to recognise desktop?
