hi nida, did they take this money from the account when you were already in an agreed repayment plan with them? And was this plan you had agreed up to date?

If you had an rp and it was up to date, they had no reason to take extra money than what you had already agreed to pay. They have breached their own repayment arrangement and have favoured themselves as a creditor if that is the case.

  • Same story here i'm affraid we had a halifax cashcard account and a halifax credit card, when we were late with the payments for the credit cards they tried to take it from the cashcard account. Fortunately we were in the process of cancelling all our direct debits at the time and thought that they might try this, so we emptied the account all bar the direct debit for the poll tax which was due, so all they got was £36.00.

I opened a co op cash minder account a couple of weeks ago. I phoned the bank and they that even though I owed them money due to BR on other accounts, they wouldn't touch funds in my new account. I'm getting a bit worried now! Maybe a Barclays account would be wiser...

Don't worry about it, Co-op are really good about bankruptcy and now you are bankrupt they cannot do it as it would be illegal.
