Credit card with a high limit

I have a question on behalf of my hasbund. He has just one credit card: Barclaycard, he got it about 8 months ago (has the current account with Barclays too) and he has a limit of £1.000. We usually spend 300-600 a month from it and pay all or almost all at the end of the month (actually just one or two month we paid only half of the balance). He asked (online) for his limit to be incresed and he received an email saying that due to curren situation is best that people don't have too much credit available, bla-bla....

So we want another credit card. Which bank/company usually gives high limits? I saw his credit file from experian and doesn't seem to have problems: just some mobile phone contracts paid on time, the credit card paid and some identification check (I think banks don't see those).
