Working Tax credit question

My husband is likely to be made redundant after christmas. I work 16 hours a week for a local company and we have 2 teenagers. As far as I can see the only benefits my husband would be entitled to would be contribution based JSA of £60.50 per week. We currently also received £10 per week child tax credit and child benefit. Can anyone tell me if I would be entitled to claim working tax credit please based on my hours and income (I take home £410 per month and don't earn enough to pay income tax or NI).
Thanks for any advice

OK..whether your husband is entitled to JSA depends on his Class1 NI contribution record for 2005-2007. You will be entitled to claim WTC as long as you work 16hrs or more. You should get somewhere in the region of around £500 a month.0

Don't know how you've managed to work this figure out.
You will qualify to claim WTC as well as CTC. The amount you get depends upon what reduction is applied for your household income. Initially the assessment will be based on both your incomes for 2007/8 tax year. You can ask for the assessment to be based on your estimated total household income* for the current tax year - be careful here though as your husband could get another job before the end of the tax year. Contribution based JSA is income that is taken into account for tax credits, but income based isn't (he wouldn't qualify for latter anyway due to your earnings).
* you have to declare the full year and they pro-rata it - yes that means it looks like your earnings are higher than they really are from now, but less when you didn't receive more than £10pw (depending upon income the £10 already paid may now be higher than £10).0 -
