Wireless Issue

In a nutshell, one of the wireless laptops in the house seems to have other wireless devices working via it..... So let me explain.
This particular laptop is an old one and gets used every now and then for various purposes. It has a Wireless Belkin card in it and and an ethernet cable. Every so often it loses it's wireless internet connection and when I say it loses it's wireless connection, it is a problem with the laptop, NOT the wireless router. To regain the connection you simply have to click on the Wireless Network Connection in the taskbar and repair.
Now here's the problem. If someone is using and the wireless connection on the laptop is lost, it is also lost on a couple of other devices in the house such as laddos PSP and the only way to regain the connection on the PSP is to either repair the connection on the laptop or to shutdown/turn off the laptop and restart the PSP.
All of which indicates that the PSP is connecting to the Internet via the laptop rather than via the Router.
So !!!!!! is going on, I am keen to find out?
Is there a wireless sharing setting on the laptop I need to change or something?

If the laptop in question is turned off, the PSP works just fine as I assume it simply picks up the wireless signal from the router.so if the laptop is off, the psp never works, or the wireless just happens to drop at the same time? If the former, switch the laptop off, and get the psp working (check the encryption settings match the router)
The issue only occurs if the laptop in question is on, if a PSP (or an Itouch) is then switched on and used wirelessly, and then the laptop loses its wireless signal..... At that point so will the PSP or Itouch.
All of which points to the PSP or Itouch using the laptop as some kinda slave?
It's not a major problem, just an irritant.

might be an idea to assign the IP addresses manually to each device, rather than let the router do it automatically.
try it and see.Get some gorm.0 -
Turn off connection sharing on laptop, Set up a security password on the router. Disable wireless on wired laptop.0

I think this is the crux of the problem..... I'll Google it to find out howTurn off connection sharing on laptop.
To access the router you already need the gazillion digit WEP code which all wireless devices have input into them.Set up a security password on the router.
The laptop needs to be used wirelessly on occasion.Disable wireless on wired laptop.
As I say, it's an irritant rather than a major issue.
