nervous newby got 2nd icesave email

Options
So my 2nd email has arrived from Icesave, big decision time having recently separated decisions like this inspire panic attacks and I dont want to screw up this time, I am seriously thinking about leaving my two year fixed rate bonds in till maturity (sept 2010) This keeps it away from my clutches an also is good as I wont draw any monthly interest leaving a good some on expiration, I guess I just need a gentle nudge in these hours of 'isolation' naturally I;ll check with fscs about security of savings from now on. or I have it transferred and start hunting all over again, my thanks in advance, the transfer button keeps staring me in the face tho !

Where else are you going to find a similar rate or the safety afforded by the fact that your funds will be in the care of the FSCS until maturity?

With interest rates plummeting, the 2year bond looks very attractive. I've got a few 1year ones maturing next year, so I'm going to sit it out.

I take it you don't have any accounts with Icesave ;)

To the OP: my advice is to leave it where it is if you want a decent return on it :D

    I wholeheartedly agree with you !! :D

  • Don't worry, I am feeling the same. I have a bond not maturing until 2011, and my worry is that if another major lender went under, could the FCS fold, if it did not have enough funds to pay out all its claims......... and I will be at the back of the queue,as I have the longest to wait !
