To protect Windows users, Microsoft plans to update Windows AntiSpyware and the Malicious Software Removal Tool as well as the online scanner on Windows Live Safety Center to detect and remove the Sony BMG software

so if you don't feel confident with the standalone tool then it should come in the next windows update although it was planned for inclusion in Decembers

good spot on that tool though !

People do buy them while on their travels outside of "Rip-Off-Britain" where they are much cheaper!

I am surprised that this thread has lasted into the new year, as only two weeks ago this subject was deemed to be unsuitable for discussion by the thought police and the whole thread was deleted.
