My download folder is now displaying my downloads in an order I am not liking. They previously went into the folder in the order they were downloaded, irrespective of file type. This suited me as I put them into seperate folders from there.I recently changed my motherboard and processor and had to have windows (xp)reinstalled for me.My hardrive was partitioned so I manged to save my downloads folder, but when I opened it, and from then on, they are in groups of,size, type, year, duration etc.Doesn't matter which option I select, they never arrange in the previous way which I by far preferred. Can anyone shed some light here please.?Thanks in advance and hapy new year to everyone

I tried that option and true to form (being stupid) I couldn't find a modified column. Then I did some more clicking,a lot of swearing, made things worse,a lot more swearing, more clicking and frustration, then spotted a "created" (I swear this was not there before) option in "arrange icons by" selected that and things appear to be back to my preferred display. Thanks to all concerned for there help with this problem and the many others I have had this year>Happy new year to all0 -
If you click on view/choose details, you can choose which columns are listed (modified/created etc..)Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

Open the folder and in the grey areas at the top of the lists, Name, Type etc. Click in the grey at the top of one column and it changes the list format. If you don't like it click again to put it back again. I suspect there is a date column, clicking that one should get it to oldest first which is how I think you want it.0
