iqor

hi there was after a bit of advise
i have a debt with studio cards of £50 which and has been taken on by iqor who say i owe £205 after all the interest.
i made arrangements to pay £5 a week using a paying in book
this was fine until i ran out of slips
i phoned and asked for another book which they said they would send
a month later still no book so phoned and asked for another, they said they would send one, it never arrived
i wrote to them twice too asking for a book but have still not received
i wrote to them a 3rd time as i was moving house and gave them my new address
now they constantly phone me, i tell them i need a paying in book to pay but they are quite rude and talk over me, they also have my birthday wrong so when they ask for security questions and i give them my birthday they say they cannot speak to me as the question was not answered correctly, this makes the whole process stressful...
i told them that they must have my address so contact me by post but nothing
is there anything i can do to sort this out??

many thanks

Studio Cards is a catalogue company. Used to have an account with them for a few years. :)

    ooooh!!

Harsey - if possible, take a look at the T&C from when you ordered from the catalogue. The DCA should only be charging interest if it is in the T&C that they can do so after the debt is sold on.

Have you requested a copy of the credit agreement? When purchasing from a catalogue, you should sign an agreement. If you did not sign one or they are unable to provide a copy, the debt may be unenforcable. Do a search on the forum for CCA.

Hi Harsey, I can't offer anything constructive but to say the dealings I've had with Iqor have actually been really brilliant. They have been so totally understanding, my debt with them has been outstanding for years and I kept breaking arrangements etc. The froze interest as soon as they took over the debt and the contacts I've spoken to couldn't have been nicer. Maybe try contacting them on alternative extension number if you can and see if you can get a different department/staff?

Good luck, hope you get it sorted.

when i have phoned them to ask for the slips they have been really nice as i say i have contacted them quite a few times for the slips and even now with the rude phone calls they keep making they still have not sent out the slips when i try and talk to them they say they cannot as i have not got my birthday right i have wrote to them again and still no answer
  • Stuff them. This is a case of "computer says naaaaah" and you don't have to tolerate it.

If they can't sort out a simple thing like a paying-in book then they don't deserve your money. Keep records of letters sent and calls made. Write to them once more by recorded delivery, explaining the problem and correcting the personal details they have wrong. If they still don't send you the slips and correct your details, it's their problem.

Don't speak to them any more on the phone - it clearly doesn't get you anywhere. If the calls are getting you down, unplug the phone during the day.

At some point they may take you to court. And you will have written evidence that you were willing to pay, and requested more paying-in slips on several occasions, but they didn't provide them. The court will find in your favour.

  • hi,
my wife has had a very similar experiance with iquor
we had a debt with studio cards of about £50 which iquor took up and added interest
we paid all we could using the slips but then ran out
we rang and asked for more a couple of times and also wrote to them asking for more but to no avail
they now ring us with an automated message asking us to ring them on an 0845 number which we refuse to do
we have spoken to themn a couple of time to which they have been rude by telling us that there is more ways to pay than just using slips but this is the best way for us to pay... my wife told them that their attitude is a joke as we want to pay but they wont send slips, now they tell us that we are abusive for calling one of their operators a joke, which we didnt just called their company a joke..
still we have no slips so no way to pay
whats the best action for us to take please

    many thanks

    Harv
