Looking for a cheap (poss sub £100) Digital HDD/DVD recorder. This just needs to be a basis model. No fancy beels and whistles and alos doesnt need huge HDD.
It is to be used as follows:-
Too record single programmes (so no twin tuner required) onto either HDD or occassionaly DVD (so can be watched on another telly with DVD player)
A few online stores have old Wharfdales for as little as £60 but I cant tell if they are record digital onto HDD and then tfr to disc or whether you can recorde direct onto disc from freeview
Example here http://www.expansys.com/d.aspx?i=173213
Just picking it up for a cheap xmas prezzy for somebody who has got a new freeview telly but still using old analog video to record the occassional programmes

i have a wharfdale from argos 16ogb hd and it works fine, you can pick where to record to either straight to disc or to hd..... i'm not very techie but do know it wont record from the freeview on my telly, it will record from a separate freeview (box) but just not off the tv freeview0
