Chargeback advice

Hi,
I placed an order online for some goods. they arrived fine except for one component, and the retailer is not doing everything they can to replace that component. I have spoken to barclaycard regarding a chargeback and they say that they cannot do one since i am still in possession of the goods. I didn't persist after that as I am not sure what my rights under the consumer credit act are (so came here to see if any of you guys/gals knew).
Is this true? Does it matter that I still have the goods and wish to do a chargeback? Any advice?
Thanks!!!

You should exhaust the situation with the retailer first0

I feel like I have done. I've emailed and telephoned and they say they won't replace the broken part of it. :mad:0

Whats their reasoning for not replacing the broken part?0

If something new is delivered and broken when it comes out the box then they have to replace it.0

They are saying they require the whole lot back. However, the rest of it all works fine and I am using it. I want them to replace only the broken part but they are refusing to do that.0

Ok, you'll need to give more info. What did you buy? What's working & which part is faulty.0
