Packard Bell Laptop advice

I have a Packard Bell Easynote Laptop with Windows Vista. It is approximately a year old and suddenly stopped working 2 nights ago. As it never gives a warning when the power runs out I thought that was all that was wrong but I cannot get it to make so much as a peep. I have changed power supply and the outlet where I am charging it from so it is not that.
About 10 days ago I had help from here after removing a virus and ran Malawarebyte which gave a clean bill of health. Can anybody suggest what may have gone wrong? I will have to find my receipt to see if is still under warranty.
Thanks in advance. I will check in later tonight to see if anyone has any suggestions.

So there are no lights when you plug the charger in? How about if you remove the battery and plug the charger in?? (that 'might' diagnose a faulty battery)
I guess you need to try another charger and another battery first.
You probably have a 1 year warrenty so find that receipt quick!0 -
Problem sounds hardware rather than software based.
My first guess would be the charger / mains supply but you say you've changed that.
If just the battery was faulty then I'd expect it to work still (although as suggested try removing the battery then using the charger to see what happens).
If the charger and battery look OK then it may well be something more serious.
Are there any lights on at all when you plug the charger in? Any sounds (hard drive whirring and clicking, cooling fan coming on, etc)? A friend of mine thought her laptop was broke but she'd just managed to turn the screen off somehow (she's pretty daft though).
A laptop of mine failed a few years back like this, turned out to be a failed motherboard. Not a cheap fix.0 -
Bo sounds or lights at all. When I return tonight I will try removing the battery. Thanks so far.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0

I removed the battery and plugged it in. No response whatsoever so I'll look out my receipt at the weekend. Apart from a motherboard are there any other things that could be causing this?Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0

My IT friend has advised it sounds like the internal power supply so I will be taking it back to the shop tomorrow.I have luckily found proof I bought it in February this year.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0
