ok i suspect you will all say drm but here goes.
As stated I have sky plus and back up the recording on to blank dvd this worked great untill recently . Now if i record off sky 1 the dvd says its getting record blocking signals. when i have asked sky about this they have suggested puilling the box out and resetng cabels. and going through a big check list. I can back up bbc 1 etc seems to be just sky . I tend to wait till i hve a bunch of stuff on the hard drive then record it in a 8 hour chunck on to the dvd .

I have seen a few posts like this recently.
I have an old Sky+ box (the one without anytime) and I can record anything from any channel (Movies, Sky1, Sports). I just moved over a few programs last night that were on sky1 for my inlaws to watch.0 -
It seems like a number of folks have been having problems with this -- Digital Spy has a good thread in their forum on it -- It seem like somehow the program that is trying to be transferred is picking up a spurious "Copy Protect" sequence -- Sky are aware of the problem and trying to sort it out -- It apparently started on Oct 27th -- Dave0
