Money refunded when company goes bust?

I am due to pay the balance of my holiday soon and normally pay by debit card to avoid the high charges made when paying by credit card. However, with the current climate I am now thinking it is better to be protected by paying with my credit card.

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to pay the majority by debit card and maybe just a couple of hundred pounds by credit card. Will I get the full protection if anything happens to the company?

  • I would assume you would only be covered for the amount paid on the credit card , however if the holiday company is covered by ABTA you will be covered anyway.
