Hi all,
Apologies for posting something not strictly moneysaving but I'm running out of ideas.
I'm trying to find a friend of mine who signed up about 5 years ago to the army. I know his full name, poss army number and that he was in PWRR, pretty sure 1st battalion. I know hes still in the army but is there anyway I can find him??
i've tried everywehre i can think of, joined every social networking site, tried 192.com etc. i think perhaps its because hes a soldier that places like 192 just don't help me. so i wondered if perhaps theres a particular way of finding people in the forces.
the only other option i haven't tried (to my knowledge) is paying someone but tbh i can't afford that.....so i guess what i'm asking is moneysaving....in a roundabout way :rotfl:
and before everyone wades in and asks why i want to find him, its becuase we felt out over something silly and just lost touch. his phone number no longer works and emails fail to deliver.
Please help me!!
Thanks

The obvious choice would be to run his service number through 'find' in microsoft outlook, giving his Rank, Name, Post, Address, Telephone number.
All of these could be obtained by someone with access to the network, but should we really be giving this information out.
I can only recommend writing into the army admin office asking them to chase him down for you, if you have a valid reason.
I can just imagine a scenario..
Women has 1 night stand, knows guy is with X Para (as has tattoo's of it), and you know his name & number from reading his ID card in his wallet whilst asleep.
Few months, a year later appears on a website asking for contact information..
Therefore i would recommend that people dont help the OP out by giving away personal information, and passing them too the relevant admin office.
Being 1PWWR, that would be..

LOL AliasOmega I'd just like to point out its not like that but you are entitled to believe that if you wish of course! I knew the friend in question for a very long time and there's no illegitimate child anywhere! We fell out over something silly and I'd like to make up. I don't appreciate the immediate assumption that I have an ulterior motive OR that I'm the sort of person who has one night stands with people.
I've in fact managed to get in touch with his mum anyway so no need for any further replies.Disneyworld Florida in August 2011 :jLost so far: 0 lbs of 4stMother of beautiful son with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy0 -
