Need : General advice closing cards / keeping open

Options
Morning all,

Im new to the site after reading the money diet and im changing my finances a bit, Firstly I have applied for a egg money card to most likely replace other credit cards i have and for everyday spending.

At present i have the following
EGG Credit card £0:00 limit £6000
Egg Money card £0:00 limit £2500
Barclaycard Platinum Master card £104.99 ( to be payed off in the next 2 weeks) limit £2600
Barclaycard Platinum Visa £0:00 limit £4000

My plan were to close the barclaycard cards as there rarely used except the odd transaction online to keep them ticking over, In the past my Egg card was used for a 0% balance transfer on its anaversary date to pay for a holiday that was then payed off in full before the end of the 0%

The egg money card is going to be used instead of my debit card from next month the question is which of these would you keep / loose the barclay cards are 17% apr and 14% apr so as egg money is cheaper that either the barclays and the egg credit card i have now thought of closing those 3 cards or should i keep the Egg card incase i need a 0% BT ?

Thanks for your advice.
If it doesnt pay rent sell it.

  • Keep the Egg card and close Barclays, so in the future you can benefit from "new customer" offers and also up your credit rating when applying for other cards, which you can stooze in via Egg money

I agree; Barclays always have offers for new customers. That's what I have done in the past....
