Can DD's and SO's be paid from a Co-op basic account?0
-
Is this the account you're referring to?
Cashminder
A more basic account, designed to give you maximum control over your money. No overdraft is available but an Electron debit card gives you access to your cash. You can have your wages, salary, pension, benefits or other income paid straight into your cashminder account. You can also arrange to make regular payments from your account via standing order or Direct Debit, free of charge.
An Electron Debit Card
This is the key to your account:
Use it to get money from any LINK cash machine anywhere in the country.
Use it to get cash from your account at any Post Office™ branch.
Use it to pay for goods or services anywhere displaying the Electron Card.
Use it to get cash from your account at many supermarkets and other shops that display the Electron sign.
Standing Orders and Direct Debits
You can make regular payments from your Cashminder account free of charge. These will be made on - time, every month (provided there is enough money in your account).
To find out more about the Cashminder account phone us on: 08457 212 212

I've used natwest, and its antecedents, for 45 years, I now have three current accounts I'm a signatory of plus savings accounts and they've always been absolute sweethearts.
Mind you, I now take care to remind them my custom is older than the building they're working in.0 -

Yes I have both set up and they are easy to manage online. They do make a charge for DD's hitting the account if there isn't enough in for them tho. There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0 -
A&L are really getting pretty good, I also used to be with first direct (sort of still am, having a redundant account) so they were a hard act to follow.
However I find A&L really good, and you can get lots of free ££££ for transferring. I figured all the hassle of transferring all my dds over etc might as well get as bit of compensation !, check out the referrals thread as you could get £115 free i think it is, there lots of people offering referrals and giving you some of their referral as well, Obviously I would be happy to do this as well !
more importantly give them a thought, make sure you like the look of them first ! ! check their website out etc, think they were bank of the year or something or other as well ,0 -

I moved to Alliance & Leicester after Martin's recommendation. I moved over last April, got 1 year free overdraft and £50 for joining. I have to say they are brilliant. I also have a joint saving account attached to my current account and for the first time ever I have savings!
Because the branches tend to be smaller you really feel looked after. Before this I was with Lloyds for 12 years and they were rubbish in comparison.Murphy's No More Pies Member No. 28 on hold0
