If you have Sky TV go for 1 of their packages.
If not O2 is your best option. Free Wireless router. Easy setup. Fast Speeds. Unlimited downloads for 12.50 a month, so no worries of extra costs if you download a lot of stuff. & its a fiver less if you have an o2 mobile.
& 60 quid from quidco if you get it via their site.
This is the price I get in Co. Down:mad:
Access up to 8meg (depending on factors including your distance to the exchange)
£17.50
For O2 mobile

£22.50 all other customers
Free connection
12 month contract appliesDave0 -

I did my Dads number in Rostrevor & it was the same offer you described. The reason was stated as 'You're outside the network area that O2 Broadband covers, but all is not lost. We can offer you our O2 Home Broadband Access package.' So o2 musn't be in all areas of N.I. & offer a more expensive package to those areas based on paying BT full whack I presume. Probably related to the number of customers on your exchange. Just not enough for them to add it to their list. Sorry for my info not being correct..0 -

Don't worry about it, for what it's worth SKY "free" broadbrand (as an existing SKY customer) would cost me £17 pm  for the same reasonDave0 -
This is because you aren't in exchange areas where O2 have installed their own equipment, same for Sky. They only install in exchanges where they are likely to get a good return, i.e. densely populated ares.
Have a look at http://www.samknows.com/broadband/checker2.php, it's excellent for finding out what's available from your local exchange.Norn Iron Club Member No. 252 :beer:0 -
Pity you cant get o2 from your local exchange. I signed up about 2 months ago from BT to o2 and find them excellent and very helpful. The speed I get has improved, as Mark has said it is very noticeable especially in the evenings, when I was with BT my speed wasnt much faster than dial up, in fact I got so fed up I turned computer off. The customer service guys are great they even helped me set up more e-mail address. I have nothing but praise for them and of course being an o2 mobile user I get it for £7.50 a month. Win Win all round. :j :j Norn Iron Member 303 :j0
