As the title says really.
On one of my email accounts my main email is a contact and I just got a message from "me" and it was sent to my entire contacts list.

It was meant to be sent from ebay (it was a really bad fake :rolleyes:) and was a advert for a website (greatstuff666.com) that is selling electrical goods (well is meant to be- I didn't look.) the email address given is a chinese yahoo one and it all written in chinglish.What was the message?
My email it came from is a yahoo one as well- is that relevent? Sorry not very techie, it all looks the same to me

change your yahoo mail password.

As shaven monkey (NICE image) says. A lot of these spams now APPEAR to be from YOUR email, but in fact arnt. :idea:0

It sent it to the sendings contact list. Luckily I don't have all that many people on my contact list there but I'm a bit worried what else they could've seen.
I changed all my email passwords as soon as I found out, just to be on the safe side- recently signed up to GMX and started forwarding all my email there, so I figure it might be something to do with that This is my opinion. In answer to the original question.
Yes, if you send an 'hilarious' email to everyone in your contacts then they will all be able to see each others addresses, unless you bcc'd it. If you are passing it having received it from numerous people that find it equally amusing then everyone will have their details as well.It's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0 -
I don't think you need to worry about anybody having hacked into your email account or knowing your password. More likely it's a virus or email worm. Check the header of the email that you received from yourself for the IP address; it probably wasn't sent from your connection. Give yourself a virus and spyware scan, see what it turns up.0
