comet, fix it for me insurance

not sure if this in right place , we have a tv which was bought from comet , we purchased to extended warranty at the same time . last month it developed a fault so we called them and arranged for an engineer to call out on the 20th october. he wasnt sure what the problem was and was going back to the workshop to look it up on internet and order any parts needed. after a week or so they called to say they would need to take the television into the workshop and have a look at it , they uplifted it on the 31st october , nearly 3 weeks later im still without a tv, i have phoned them numerous times , on monday they said they were 'trying' to get it written off, and would call me on the tuesday , no call, so i called back this morning , couldnt tell me anything but promised to call back in the afternoon, no call , i called again this evening to be told that they cant get the parts but are going to get in touch with manufacturer to see if they can be ordered, and yet another promise of an update tomorrow, so what id like to know is , how long do i give them to sort this out, im tearing my hair out with frustration and no tv ,any help appreciated. thank you for reading , i know its a bit long.

we paid it over 12 months interest free, all paid as we bought the tv in 2004, we only have a yr left on insurance0

pestered them since last thursday over time they are taking and different stories they are giving me,anyways they called today , getting a replacement tv to be delivered tomorrow.0
