Do I need to download multiple microsoft updates?

KG

Having had problems with my laptop I am using my brother's PC, but he has never used it for the internet. I am in the process of protecting it for online use and have downloaded the patches from Microsoft.

I am assuming that, since there were about 80 updates listed as downloading, that that's everything I need. Or do I need to go back and download each patch released for XP?

Thanks

KG

You'll probably have to go round the loop a few times as some of the updates that were applied will need updates themselves.

It only took me 2 hours to fully update a brand new laptop today.

Youll need to get it to update to service pack 3 (usually have to go through service packs 1 and 2 first, even though its supposed to be cumulative), then upto whatever update we're on now
