I bought a universal remote in poundland, because we got a tv from someone, very kindly, free, but missing the original remote. the universal does not seem to recognise the tv - is that because it is too old? i know it was only a pound, but i'd like it to work, so that i don't have to trawl the net for a replacement branded one. Also, there is a number quite large along the top of the picture, which we can't get rid of. Any advice greatly appreciated. (now we have a digi box, from Asda, we can at least get the channels) :xmassmile

try google?
a cheaky way of doing it ( legal and works) is take your remote to dixons or currys, find the remote control on display you think is the same and copy the signals to your remote.what is the plural of moose?

We have an ALBA CTV3459 and are using a Universal Remote Control which is ok but does not have the SLEEP TIMER function. Does anyone know how to programme this function into the remote/have a suitable remote with sleep function timer that would do the trick?
I looked on universalremotes.com and the cheapest was over £18.00. Still need to ring them though to ask if it has sleep timer function. Having said that, it's too expensive for me....0
