To cancel or not to cancel..that is the question.

I currently have 2 credit cards - 1 is used for my slow stoozing where the 0% on purchases runs out next March and the other is my ipoints credit card.

I'm only using my "0%" card to build up interest on my savings so the other 1 just sits in my wallet. Is it possible for me to close my ipoints card and re-apply next year when my other card has used up it's introductory offer? I know you might be thinking "why don't you jsut wait until the other card runs its course and then re-use the ipoints card?" Well that was the original plan but I figured...if it's possible to re-apply to the same card, I can get another 2000 points for opening!

Don't know if I made sense but hopefully, someone will understand what I'm on about and advise!

check with the card company how long it is between cancelling that you can reapply again, as may not be soon enough if you want a new card in march, for instance i have just cancelled my natwest, mint and egg cards, i cant reapply for natwest or mint for 9 months and egg for 1 year

Yea that's what I was trying to avoid as they might flag my account up saying "oooh she's thinking of cancelling her card and re-opening!". I might just be paranoid but would be cool to hear from people with experience dealing with ipoints card.
