Which of these 2 LCD TVs to buy?

My mum has asked me for advice on buying a 32" LCD TV. She has come up with two different ones, a Toshiba or LG. Both are under £400 (she doesn't want to spend more than £400). I'm thinking the LG is quite possibly better simply because of the extra HDMI input, however i'm not really sure my parents would have any use for this (they have Virgin TV but i'm not sure whether it's the HD package).
Just wondered what other forum members think.

I wouldnt recommend either as both have been known to have 'problems' after a bit of running in.
