  • It will be very interesting to see how much the building societies cut their variable rates on savings accounts over the next few days. It will show whether they lean towards borrowers or savers.

    Did you notice that National Counties BS cut their savings rates by only 0.3% in response to a 1.5% base rate cut ?
    Though, as another cut is expected in Dec they could always make up for it next time.

    Edit: Talk about confusing, this 0.3% cut is likely to be a very late response to the 0.5% cut in early October.
