Why is the price difference between Diesel and unleaded getting bigger?

    Hmm yes I agree that the differential has grown for the reasons given but I am not convinced that it has changed that markedly since 2007. I could see +/-5p but 14p is quite high.

    I'm in Belgium and, due to my job, I get tax-free fuel so the pricing is fairly transparent.

    Tax-free, diesel here is 10c(8p) more expensive. Obviously it's a different market in the UK but it gives you an idea of the difference in price.


    With tax, unleaded is about 20c(16p) more expensive than diesel.
