Hi i'm new, so here's for a first post.
I've got a barclays visa connect visa debit card.
I want to apply for a debit spread deal on some stuff....on the compnays website it says the following:
We take payments monthly using a current debit/credit card (except Electron, Solo or American Express).
Is my connect card an electron card or should i be fine applying, i've phoned the shop but they said they can't tell me untill we go through the final stages of buying the stuff.
Thanks for any information, i'm pretty confused to say the least:beer:

We'll whats your barclays account is it a cash account or current account? They both issue visa debit but they are read differently by what is programmed in the electronic chip meaning they get authorised in different ways. Another way to tell is if your card have a cheque guarantee on the reserve side bottom right hand corner if it does this is a full visa debit card, if it doesn't it a connect electronic, and requires authorisation for every purchase while full debit cards don't. It's a current account i have, I have a loan with barclays already and they upgraded my accoubt there and then.
On the back i don't have the cheque guarantee symbol just the visa silver symbol.
Maybe i should go into barclays and see if they can get me the card you have just said about.
thanks for the help.0 -
yes ask them for one but if you have a normal current account it should be okay, try it they could only say no. i think bose do this same system as well when you by stuff from their.0
