HELP internet error holiday booked

please any advice out there ...i booked holiday with well known tour opertor end of dec over the internet,i printed off page 4 page through booking process, but received my conformation and it was booked under self cateriong not half board as I was led to believe.after many stressfull days tour opertor will not honour half board, but will cancel holiday free of charge.
I told them :rolleyes: I have already spoken to trading standards and because they have taken full payment they MUST ALLOW US HALF BOARD, after speaking and emailing Manager of customer service's today . they wont honour holiday without WRITTEN PROOF it was booked as half board, So I said I wanted to see written proof that said it was self catering ???? ( I can be B funny 2)...My end of invoice did NOT STATE EITHER...help can I fight this one out am I correct....??
I told her I have spent over 35 minute's ringing to complain and STRONGLY OBJECT TO PAYING 8p per minute 0870 :mad:

Calls to 0845 numbers dialing access code 0844 462 6767 charged at 2p a minute, it is either Abroadtel or Dialwise. Shows on your telephone bill as an internet call.

As to your holiday - assuming they are in breach of contract, by offering you a refund is putting you back into your original position - ie cash back. You could sue them in the Small Claims County Court for compensation,loss of enjoyment etc., but no guarantee the Registrar would award you judgement. Unless you have copies of all pages difficult for you to prove. Nol-one can make them provide you with the holiday.

thanks for your reply, but what do you mean regarding telephone numbers....I have been ringing 0870 not 0845 ?
I printed off page for page when i "clicked" half board following page came up, to book studio or eves so i clicked studio there was no mention of HB or SC not even in final conformation letter ?

ooooophs, misread the number, have just checked for an access code to 0870 numbers but no joy, sorry.

You need to contact 08454 0405 06 - Consumer Direct. They will take details and forward to your local Trading Standards Dept., if they think there is a possible breach of legislation,will contact you to discuss further. Generally when a website malfunctions hundreds of compaints are received by the local Trading Standards Dept regarding a particular trader,but at the end of the day the trader can cancel the contract.
