Hi, I am new to this board so please forgive me if I have posted in the wrong place.
I signed up for the breathe card in Nov 08 after researching it on this site we wanted to fund our new kitchen so this was perfect.
I have duly been paying the minimum amount and not thinking anything of it as it is all done online.
I checked over my account today and have been walloped with 2 lots of interest so rang them to see what the heck was going on and have been catagorically told I have never had a 0% purchase on this card only a 0% balance transfer which is making me feel like I am losing my mind.
I cannot find any paperwork, I think we did it all online but I know full well we went for the 0% purchase offer. What do I do now, who can help if Barclaycard wont budge I am over £500 in interest out of pocket now and going insane!!!
    Anyone please help.

Ask them for a copy of your CCA not sure if it will be listed on there. Ask them to submit to you any information they have. Complain threaten to close the account.

may be worthwhile applying for a new CC and BT to that

I have this particular card but, irrespective of what's stated on this forum or anywhere else, it's the credit agreement you signed with Barclaycard which counts.

It's not uncommon for lenders to offer different terms and conditions at one and the same time and to vary or withdraw offers without warning. What's more, the bank's own staff are seldom up to speed with the changes.

If you cannot find the paperwork (or didn't save/print it during the application), I would ask B'card for a copy. It's important to know what Ts & Cs you're signed up to and you'll feel more confident tackling customer services with written confirmation to hand.

If you ring Card Services on 0800 068 4899 and hold, then select 0 from the menu to speak to an adviser, you'll avoid the overseas call centre and the perishing 0870 numbers ;)

Explain what's happened, once again, with as much patience as you can muster and try not to be too grumpy. If you disarm 'em with charm, you're more likely to get the desired result.

If B'card still won't budge, I would request a copy of its complaints procedure (you can do this over the phone). This sets out the time limits allowed for dealing with your complaint. The bank is also obliged to confirm the result of your complaint in writing.

You have the right to take your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman if you are not satisfied with the outcome.
People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.

I don't know what you're all complaining about...surely you got this card to help the environment and not because it had a good APR?!?

i also signed up in nov 08 and have been purchasing on this card to pay off another card. Have just logged onto the account but do not have any interest charges at all, have requested via secure email confirmation terms of this 0% purchase offer, will let you know if/when it comes:confused:

This may be its main attraction, but the OP is still entitled to the complete package.

If B'card advertised 0% APR on purchases for the first 12 months and that was the deal s/he signed up to, that is what they should get.
