Credit Agency Editing Credit Reports

I used CreditStatus.com to check my credit report and it says that you can enter some comments on your own credit file for other searchers to see, they explained this on the site http://www.creditstatus.com

Is this right? What type of information can be added to your own credit report? If I was slow with some payments can I give my reasons, and do credit agencies edit the comments you put on your credit report?

Yes, you can add information to your credit report, for example, if you defaulted on a payment, you could explain why that was so - for example, your extenuating circumstances during that time.

When a lender searches your credit file, if there are these notices, they will tend to be referred (as opposed to computer decision). Then it depends on the underwriter to decide whether to lend or not, manually.
