Hi,
Iam with bt at the moment free evening and weekend calls 12 month rolling contract.
i'm interested in 18185 for my day time calls, is there minimum spend as i don't use the phone alot during the day my bill is only about £1.50
with BT per month
Also i have my broadband with sky but after reading this article http://www.skyuser.co.uk/skyinfo/update_on_sky_broadband_pricing_changes.html
it might be worth having my calls with sky.
Will it be easy to change over when i come to the end of the 12mth contract with BT
Any advice welcome
Thanks

There is no minimum spend with 18185 (or 1899, 18866).
Sky now supplies Sky Talk via WCLI - effectively barring the use of the 1280 prefix to 'hop back onto' BT for individual calls.
Sky is the most expensive (except for mobile providers) for 0845 and 0870 calls.

Thank you for the info
I was only considering sky to keep my broadband at my current price.
Can you still use 18185 with sky talk.
Thanks0 -
Yes, if you leave your line rental with BT (but BT will then charge you for Caller Display and/or 1571 if you use them). Can you still use 18185 with sky talk.
If you hand your line rental to Sky, they can stop you using indirect calls providers whenever they want.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. I would be keeping my line rental with BT
I was only going to sky to save the £5 per month on my broadband in march'09
Thanks for the advice0 -
I am in the same position, I joined sky in April 08 therefore will have to pay in March 09. I was considering whether to just use their talk free and continue with bt for my line rental or pay £5 to get free calls a month. I just want somebody to confirm whether I will still be able to make calls using 18185. I guess, if I keep my bt line, I will have to cancel caller display and 1571. I prefer bt as my line provider. Interested to hear from people like me. I am a very light user, and I do not want to have to pay the extra £5. I am considering what other options I have. Thanks0

Is this still the case? Will I still be able to use 18185 if I use Sky Talk but keep my line rental with BT?0 -
