    No. Those details are the ones that will appear on your HSBC statement if you pull money in by direct debit. You weren't doing that...you were pushing money by BACS/FP from your HSBC account.You've missed out the bit on faster payments. In full, it reads...The first two methods use the same sort code. CHAPS is different.A word of advice...you ought to get into the habit of sending £1 test payments before commiting to £10,000 transfers, because eventually you'll come unstuck...BIG TIME!

    So, are you eventually admitting it was your mistake, manhar?

    I cannot understand how HSBC allowed you to input an 11 digit account number into a field which can only possibly be 8 digits long. If indeed they did so - and you didn't simply key in the 8 digits which fit and "ignored" the other 3 - then you should be complaining to them for having a stupid system, not complaining about A&L who still don't seem to have done anything at all wrong.
