Help please foreign buyer no comprendi!

Different day same problem!

long story short:
European buyer bought item, tried to pay by P.O. I presume in Euros, told him I only accepted Paypal as shown in listings.
Said he would pay by Paypal, then sent a message "Cannot pay by Paypal help please."

I have asked him why he cannot pay by Paypal, so I presumed it was cos he has said he will pay by PO , no reply, so I sent another invoice explaining that I need paying by Paypal or in Sterling transfer He has now sent me this invoice back with exactly the same on as before i.e he will pay by P.O.

Now is there anything I can do apart from throwing myself out of the window!:rotfl:

Is this simply a language barrier problem, what language is your buyer?
you say 'I presume in Euros' have you not seen the P.O.?
You could ask for a sterling only postal order and pop in into your bank account, couldn't you?

  • You can cash foreign cheques or PO, costs £4 with barclays.
  • :o I don't know much about ebay, but the presenting of a cheque can be a scam. You see, the cheque goes in, apparently clears, you spend the money/send out item then a few months down the line the cheque is shown to be a fake and you are down the item and the money. Also possibly charges. A variant is that the cheque will be for more than the cost of the item so you bank the cheque which apparently clears then you send out the excess plus item and then you have lost a lot.

My dear heart has a cheque for £3k which is a trophy for spotting one of these scams.

Also, is it that he 'no comprendi' or 'no want to comprendi'?

I don't understand ebay in fine detail, so can you stop this and relist? If no paypal payment in x days?

Also, PO can be postal order, payable order or rude words

Hi there buyer is in Belgium, I have tried French but he is a flemish speaker, I know a little bit liek Moyen etc, but that is not helping either. I am going to wait cos there is a possibility it may be in sterling. Then if not NPB.

I know that if it is in Euros I can change it but that means I will lose out, and I clearly state Paypal for overseas buyers. and have never had this happen before.

He does not want to do a bank transfer, or does not understand what one is. He is fairly new with only 11 feedback and by the looks of it others have had prbolems but have been paid eventually. So I hope it is just a sterling P.O. and we are misunderstanding each other.
Thansk for all your help I will keep you informed.

He is making his problem your problem - tell him that you require payment by Paypal within 7 days of the auction end (I'm sure he will know someone that speaks English and can translate).

He needs to set-up a Paypal account - its not difficult.

Arh shame. I can't help you there seashore321. I thought (wrongly) he might be Spanish, with you saying 'he hadn't understood' in your original post. In which case I might have been able to help you out with a quick e-mail.
    Good luck!
