 I've searched, read, thought and I still can't figure out how to copy a piece of text from a post and paste it into my reply. I think the bleach has at last reached my brain
I'd be grateful for some advice from someone - anyone - telling me in the simplest possible terms how to do it, and if I have to faff around with my CP please include instructions for that too.
First MSE'er to post a reply gets a  next time I see them !

Select the text you want to copy. Press ctrl and c at the same time then click in your message where you want to paste, and press ctrl and v at the same time. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

ctrl v or ctrl c is just the keyboard shortcut for right clicking and selecting copy/paste. You can use either/or. Not both together. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

To do so, type the usual quote tag, ([ q u o t e] - without the spaces) but put an equals = before the closing ]. Then type the original poster's name and type the ]. (It would look like [ q u o t e = u s e r n a m e ] without the spaces) When you post it will appear as:tigermatt wrote:This is a quote with my username in the "Quote" text
You can also do quotes within quotes:This is a quote.tigermatt wrote:This is a quote with a user's username in the header within a quote.0 -
