Natwest credit card help

Hi,I took out a natwest gold card last month as I was offered 13 months interest free on BT's and 6 months on purchases. Now I have spent on this card and done BT'S as before I took out the card I was determined to clear my debt by next march. This is when the purchases would have to be paid back also. Can someone clarify whether as I have spent on the card,I would have to make sure It is cleared by march anyway,or is there a distinction between purchases and BT's If that makes sense. So would the fact that I have spent on it cancel out the 0% for 13 months and bring it all to 0% for 6 months? Thanks-sorry if the post is a bit confusing:o

  • for the first 6 months ie in the 0% period for purchases, any payments you make/made will be used to pay off the purchases first as they are at 0% as are the BT balances, but the purchase offer ends first. After 6 months all money paid from then will be used to reduce your BT balance and any purchases still unpaid on the card will accrue interest and continue to do so month on month untill your BT period ends or the BT balance is paid off. It's all in your T&C .Do your maths and make sure your payments made to the card will total ALL purchases plus the BT fees before the 0% runs out on the purchases. Then do not use the card again for purchases until the balance on the card is 00.00. Thats if you want to avoid paying interest at all on the card. NOTE..be aware that with Natwest the promotional offers expire on the statement date and not the payments date so clear the purchase balances plus the BT fees BEFORE the final statement date ie give yourself only 5 months for the 6 month offer and only 12 months on the 13 month offer. Hope this helps
