Gamestation.co.uk - just a warning

Just a quick heads up about the clever new computer system that gamestation have

On 11/11 I ordered an item which was a Christmas pressie, on 17/11 I called up cs as the online tracking hadn't updated it past ready to be picked and packed. I was told that the parcel label had been printed and it should be dispatched that day... Called today as the order status was at the same stage and have been informed that there were problems they found with their computer system yesterday  Apparently they have issues with the "migration of information to the new computer system" basically they don't have the item to sell.

Just managed to order from John Lewis so at least DH will have a console to go with the games I have bought him :rotfl:

Just wanted to let others know incase they seem to be in the same boat... imo if they found out yesterday there should have been able to identify the orders which were affected and let their customers know...

They're doing well, my friend rang our local recently to ask about wii fit's, got told they had some in, so she said right I'll be there in 5 mins...turned up collected her board and then got told sorry can't sell it on it's own, you have to buy 3 games as well!!!!!
  • I just got an e-mail cancelling my order for a game that I ordered 10 days ago , described in the acknowledgement e-mail as " available ( immediate)"

    The reason they give is

Unfortunately we no longer have stock of this product available and we are therefore unable to fulfil your order which has now been cancelled

This is my first order from this company, and I certainly won't be ordering from them again.

    Hi
Just got my Wii fit delivered from Comet GREAT!!!! Ordered Monday. Thanks to Moneysavingamatuer for the web site mod.
  • Simgranny, Yeah I just received that e-mail too... The console I had ordered was also "in stock" at the time of ordering - it was sent to be picked and packed on 12/11 - surely at that point (when the item wasn't in the warehouse *lol*) they would have known that there was a problem?

Just really annoying - started shopping early(ish) to avoid stress!

I hope you manage to find your game somewhere else!

    Hello
As far as I know this company is owned by GAME, they are all one concern so I am really surprised about these issues as I deal with GAME a lot and not had any problems.

I have used Gamestation a lot and in the past they have been quite reliable. However, their stock control has gone to pot - I orderered a few items, all supposedly in stock, and one by one they have been cancelled over the last 2 weeks. A real pain when they are ordered for birthdays etc.

I will avoid Gamestation now as it is too much hassle wondering if the stuff will ever turn up.

I got the same email for a pre-owned gamecube I bought a couple of weeks ago. I assume that they're probably just having a technical issue at the moment as there are so many complaints around now.

I'll certainly try them again if another bargain crops up, as even the biggest shops seem to have problems now and then.
